It was in the 1970s that French designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac began to make waves in the Parisian fashion scene. At the same time, in Saint-Tropez, Vilebrequin was becoming the go-to brand for beach-side style. It should come as no surprise then, that the 1970s inspires this new collaborative collection.
Comprising more than 40 pieces across menswear and womenswear, the collection features playful prints inspired by the designer’s colourful sketches, combined with silhouettes that pay homage to the sportswear-chic style of the decade. As the designer himself explains: ‘This collection is about a desire to innovate and strong personality. You can use it to reinvent yourself, freely and simply. Isn’t that the very essence of sportswear chic?’
