The Hyatt Regency London The Churchill hotel transports us to Havana this summer with a Cuban-inspired takeover. The new menu takes inspiration from Sir Winston Churchill’s travels to Cuba in 1895.
Expect an array of Latin American influences throughout, from the décor, complete with tropical plants and Panama hats, to a menu full of tropical cocktails to please all taste buds, including Coco Fuego, a Cuban take on the classic Piña Colada cocktail served in a coconut shell. Winston’s Summer Cup is a tropical twist on the traditional British Pimm’s Cup and may we also highly recommend the Mojito de Sandia, which reinvents a classic mojito with fresh watermelon for a serious taste sensation – the perfect way to stay cool on a summer evening in the city.
For pre-dinner nibbles indulge in some Cuban-style canapés such as traditional fried plantains, Huevo Habanero eggs, the most delicious churros and the Cubanito baguette sandwich, which was a firm favourite of ours.
Finish your visit with a Cuban-style cigar on the terrace and you are practically in Cuba, all just a stone’s throw from bustling Oxford Street – ideally located for some post-shopping cocktails
