Luxury five-star hotel Claridge’s was transformed into a monster’s den for the Mulberry autumn/winter show, to reflect the main inspiration behind this season’s collection. Benches were covered in shaggy black fur and two larger-than-life monsters flanked the catwalk. The front row was one of the glitziest we’ve seen, with Anna Wintour in a leopard print fur coat, Hamish Bowles, Michelle Williams, Elizabeth Olsen and girl of the moment Lana Del Rey all present.
The collection featured an array of Mongolian, goat, sheepskin and rabbit fur in the form of hooded jackets, gilets and dresses in a colour palette of rich chocolate and caramel tones, with a shot of autumnal orange in tangerine and rusty orange. Our favourites included a lace dress in tangerine, a zebra-print polo neck and a blue graphic print dress with a matching coat. Mulberry also revealed its latest bag design, structured like a retro doctors’ bag and named after Lana Del Rey, which launches in stores in May.
After the show, guests indulged in Bloody Marys, monster truffles and bacon rolls – definitely worth getting up early for on a Sunday.
