A ticket to one of Henry Holland’s shows always feels like an invitation to join the in-crowd; this season is no different. The LFW show featured a soundtrack by hotly tipped newcomer Azealia Banks and was attended by the designer’s close friends, including Pixie Geldof, Alexa Chung and Nick Grimshaw, proving that this collection is sure to be as sought-after as ever by those in the know.
Autumn/winter sees the House of Holland take a sophisticated turn, balancing a rich primary colour palette with graphic prints and slim silhouettes. Holland’s playful twists on the traditional were still evident, seen in his bright, almost neon, houndstooth suits and slim-fit flares teamed with patent platform brogues. Elsewhere, surprisingly wearable separates – rainbow-striped cardigans and chunky knit jumpers – were in stark contrast to more unusual faux-fur-sleeved coats, red leather shift dresses and skullcaps.
The collection ended with a sparkling flourish; a standout navy maxi gown flecked with metallic fish scales exemplified grown-up glamour while the metallic sheen of checked prom dresses exhibited a more girlish sensibility.
