Tennis was the theme of the day at David Koma spring/summer 2013 with the front row treated to Sugarpova chewing gum by Maria Sharapova and the noise of trainers squeaking on a hard court opening the show.
The collection continued the theme, with Koma admitting that it was inspired by female tennis players and the strength and glamour they bring to the arena.
Pleated skirts kicked out as models walked and crisp white was accented with grass green and tangerine orange netting. Contoured and sculptural bodices featured cut-out detailing and loose organza sweaters gave a relaxed look over more fitted lines close to the body.
Shoes by Alain Quilici for David Koma completed the look and featured racket handles – the only literal representation of the tennis game in this very wearable collection.
