Nancy Gonzalez’s exceptional accessories have been sold at Harrods for the past decade and, from late March 2012, they will occupy a dedicated boutique in the store’s opulent Egyptian Hall. The 300-square-foot store-in-store will host the largest presentation in the world of Gonzalez’s range, which includes totes, clutches and satchels created using only the finest skins. The Colombian designer’s current pieces are available in a wide choice of finishes and colours that range from fluorescent and metallic to muted pastels. The boutique’s interior design, a complementary combination of dark wood and bronze fixtures, was inspired by minimalist artists André Arbus, Jean-Michel Frank and Gabriella Crespi, and its simplicity focuses attention on the products themselves. To celebrate the launch of the boutique, a limited-edition Union Jack crocodile-skin clutch will be available from May; only 10 will be made, priced at £995.
