LVMH is the world’s largest luxury conglomerate and owns some of the fashion industry’s most prestigious names, from Christian Dior to Louis Vuitton and Givenchy. This month there has been plenty of noise about a potential new luxury fashion brand for the French company, created in collaboration with Rihanna. LVMH has reportedly tapped the singer for a new label, which, it is suggested, could cover accessories.
LVMH’s relationship with Rihanna can be traced back to 2015 when the singer worked on a capsule collection of sunglasses for LVMH’s Dior, and more recently with her Fenty Beauty line, which was developed with LVMH’s Kendo brand incubator. Rihanna, whose full name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty, has been widely praised for the beauty line, which garnered huge industry and global attention thanks to its wide range of skin tones and impressive make-up collection.
With 67 million Instagram followers and a regular at fashion week front rows and the Met Gala, Rihanna has built up an impressive portfolio of coveted fashion looks, and her name carries serious weight in the industry. While LVMH has yet to make a statement and the details of the new fashion brand remain undisclosed, its concept has already garnered a huge amount of attention.
