London Fashion Week (LFW) may be considered to be the most diverse and avant-garde of the four fashion week cities, and it draws in some impressive names. This season fashion week stalwarts such as Burberry and Erdem were joined by emerging talents including Molly Goddard, Alexa Chung and Halpern, which proved to be huge hits with the millennials. While collections were inspired by a wide range of sources, there were several emerging trends that took hold over the week. Feathers, in particular, were a huge theme, with plumes and trails of downy feathers attached to a variety of outfits. Bows too, were another strong element, with designers adding subtle, sweet twists to their ready-to-wear and accessories, and bows adorning everything from dresses to hair. The colour of the season? Brown. Tonal dressing in buttery soft shades was seen everywhere, from Margaret Howell to Emilia Wickstead and Roksanda, and, no doubt, can be expected at the upcoming Milan and Paris Fashion Week shows.
