Hermès is known all over the world for its painstakingly crafted leather goods. Originally founded by Thierry Hermès in 1837 as a harness and saddle maker, the French company uses only the most luxurious hides to create its selection of leather handbags, luggage and accessories. Now, thanks to the Leather Forever exhibition, which runs from 8-27 May, there’s a chance to see some of Hermès’s most coveted creations and to learn more about the brand’s history. The exhibition will highlight Hermès’s long-standing tradition of craftsmanship, featuring live leather-working demonstrations from Hermès artisans as well as showcasing special pieces such as those commissioned by the late Duke and Duchess of Windsor. Don’t miss the four handbags which have been specially created in celebration of the exhibition and will be auctioned for charity.
