What separates the BBS method from other dance-cardio classes?
BBS classes are more athletic and even though there is dance choreography, it is not too intricate or difficult. Our aim is to really get the heart rate up, and you do not need to be a professional dancer to partake in our dance classes.
What are your favourite fitness props?
I am obsessed with the BBS gliders and also the CLX TheraBand. They are so versatile and can be used for full body exercises that target many muscle groups.
How many classes per week would you recommend
Three to five for maintenance and five to six when working towards a goal, with preferably an hour per session.
What activewear brands do you love?
I only ever wear ALO. The quality and fabrics are incredible, and I love the fit, style and colours. The good thing is that they last many washes.
You have five signature classes. Do you have a personal favourite?
It will always be Dance Cardio. As an ex-professional dancer, dance is always my first love. I love the creative expression and the good endorphins that you feel after a 55-minute class.
Which products do you use to unwind?
I love a Diptyque Rose scented candle, my meditation app, Jo Malone White Jasmine and Mint Bath Oil and my Slip silk pillowcase.
How did you decide on the location for your first studio?
I love the area my studio is in and that it is so close to Primrose Hill. It’s close enough to Camden Town tube that you can get the Northern line straight in, and there are not many workout offerings in this area. Central London is over saturated and north London needed some BBS love.
What are your kit bag essentials?
My iPhone, which has all my workout playlists, and also my app for exercise inspiration or meals. Also, dry shampoo – I love Klorane –as well as my BBS X Soma water bottle, Beats headphones, Lancôme waterproof mascara, and a spare change of ALO activewear for those sweaty days.
How did you adapt your workout during your pregnancy?
Each trimester, my workout slightly changed. I started to limit my cardio and high-intensity workouts and focused on using smaller weights and resistance bands. My strength has remained, but I did find my cardio was challenged by the extra bump.
What are your five favourite things about London?
Regent’s Park, as it’s so close to my new studio. Nothing beats Selfridges or Liberty, there is nothing comparable in the US. Afternoon tea – I love Claridges for indulgent treat. Sunday roast at Soho House is the all-you-can-eat feast and I certainly do that.
What’s your top pre and post-workout fuel?
Pre-workout is protein and carbohydrate – eggs any style or avocado on toast. Post workout is a protein shake, my favourite is the BBS banana, blueberry and strawberry with vanilla protein and almond milk.
What’s next for BBS?
World domination! Releasing 2.0 of the BBS app, the Revenge Body season three television series, Baby By Simone pre-natal workouts, and maybe some maternity leave.
