The annual Veggie Week festival in Geneva kicks off the summer event calendar for 2019. Veggie Week has been expanding across Switzerland for the past three years, since its Geneva launch in 2017. The successful foodie festival welcomes a number of five-star hotels, serving up delectable vegetarian dishes created by some of the best Swiss chefs. More than 2,500 guests have enjoyed the previous events, which offered 138 unique gastronomic plant-based delights.
This year’s festival also includes Zürich and Interlaken and covers two weeks, so even more guests can enjoy vegetarian dishes with a unique taste of Switzerland.

Geneva Street Food Festival

Warming up to summer, the famous Geneva Street Food Festival returns for its fifth year of authentic foodie delights from around the world. Located in the scenic Jardin Anglais garden near the waterfront, the foodie festival offers charming views of nature combined with gastronomic food trucks, kiosks, brewers and winemakers. Your little ones won’t be left out of the festivities – there’s a dedicated kids’ corner and various activities for young visitors.
Tantalise your tastebuds with noodles, Indian street food, fresh lobster, Italian pizza, seafood and American-style burgers, finished with sweet cookie treats for dessert. Be sure to head to the bars offering luscious wines, artisan beers and a cocktail or two.
Can’t make the opening event? Then don’t miss the second part of the festival at the end of August, when the food trucks move to Promenade Saint-Antoine.

Relax and unwind at a free open-air cinematic experience this summer – enjoy a daytime movie with a picnic, or a film after dark and a night under the stars. Open from mid July to mid August, CinéTransat offers an extensive line-up of Grammy award-winning films and childhood classics.
The Karate Kid opens the season on 11 July, and other famous film highlights on the programme include Sister Act, When Harry Met Sally and Pulp Fiction. The schedule also offers a number of short documentaries, animations and fiction films for the whole family. Situated in Parc de la Perle du Lac, overlooking Lake Geneva, the free event delivers a unique cinematic experience, with deck chairs for hire and a snack bar. Be sure to bring a blanket and a picnic to make the most of the outdoor venue.
