Chamberí: City guide

Chamberí is the Madrid district located just north of the city centre, bounded by Paseo de la Castellana to the east, Plaza de Colón to the south and Calle Princesa to the west. Once home to the medieval Knights Templar, Chamberí was a hunting estate in the 18th century. It is now a buzzy metropolitan barrio packed with stylish restaurants, bars, embassies, offices and shops. The area is particularly popular with wealthy twentysomethings and thirtysomethings
