The recently opened Hotel Mercer looks set to cement its status as one of Barcelona’s finest hotels with the appointment of head chef Jean Luc Figueras. The acclaimed French chef will oversee a gourmet restaurant, Mercer by Jean Luc Figueras, as well as a more relaxed bistro offering a menu of tapas-inspired light bites. A number of menu options will be available, from a set menu for lunch and dinner to a deluxe tasting menu featuring Figueras’s finest signature dishes.
Known for his distinctive culinary style, Figueras combines his French culinary background with influences from Italian and Catalan cuisine to produce a unique menu at the Mercer. Dishes include langoustine cannelloni with tomato confit and black olives, line-caught sea bass with salt cod tripe and black sausage, and a delicious dessert of hot chocolate mousse with blackberries and vanilla ice cream.
