MCM marked the start of a new fashion era in Singapore last night as it made its South East Asian debut. The brand closed Singapore Men’s Fashion Week with an 80-piece collection that referenced its history of creating luxury leather goods.
MCM jetsetters lounge at tropical resorts, maybe take a trip into the wild – and then they party hard, so the three-part collection offered everything from white silk trouser suits and classic trenchcoats to army-print bondage trousers and metallic biker jackets, offered with a hot pink leopard-print lining or vertical zips.
Asian celebrities Daniel Henney and Shawn Yue were present alongside CEO Sung-Joo Kim, who can be credited with the turnaround of the German brand, to see the clothes come alive with music and acrobatic dance acts. This big bang of a brand, already an international success, is entering South East Asia even harder, faster and stronger.
