Max Mara injects warmth and movement into its Pre-Fall collection for autumn/winter 2019 with a dance-inspired theme and a feminine and playful look for the modern woman. The storytelling collection transitions from day to night through a variety of shades, from off-white and cream, silky pinks, rich browns, intense copper orange and reds through to sophisticated black. Shapes channel off-duty elegance with wide silhouettes, rolled up sleeves and knotted waists.
Off-duty, smart-casual T-shirts and ribbed leggings complete the collection of mix-and-match separates. Taking inspiration from the documentary Nureyev: All The World His Stage by Jacqui and David Morris, the intricate collection explores the light and shade relationship between dancers Rudolf Nureyev and Margot Fonteyn. Fonteyn’s fluid personality is explored through Max Mara’s floaty chiffon and contrasting wrapped tops, while Nureyev’s persona is portrayed through masculine tailoring and shapes, complete with lacing, velvet and cashmere.
