FP Journe innovates and revolutionises its hero timepiece with a new luxury watch to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Tourbillon Souverain. In 1991 when innovator François-Paul Journe began his watchmaking career, his tourbillon pocket watch was born and shortly afterwards a tourbillon wristwatch was manufactured with a limited number of models, reserved for a small selection of watch collectors. Then, in 1999, the first Tourbillon Souverain arrived, with a constant-force, or remontoir d’égalité, mechanism. Following that, 2003 saw a new generation of the Tourbillon Souverain encased in luxurious 18-carat rose gold, a first in modern watchmaking in the new millennium.
To celebrate the evolution of the watch and its 20th anniversary, the new vertical tourbillon boasts a remontoir d’égalité and dead-beat seconds hand, which makes one revolution every 30 seconds. The technically advanced movement is encased in a tourbillon cage with 4N rose gold bridges and a contemporary, decorated dial. The powerful 42mm timepiece also features an 80-hour power reserve at 12 o’clock, a small seconds dial at six o’clock and the remontoir d’égalité at seven o’clock. The stunning new model is available in platinum and 18-carat 6N gold.
