Earlier this month, luxury timepiece curator FP Journe auctioned a specially crafted Chronographe Monopoussoir Rattrapante at a charity ball in Singapore. Designed and manufactured in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, the rare and one-of-a-kind exquisite timepiece sold at auction for S$400,000.
The unique piece features a large 44mm blue dial and Superluminova numerals in oracle-bone script inspired by eras gone by. The large all-sport designed titanium-case watch is reminiscent of an automobile tyre, with an assorted metallic matte finish and rubber inserts fixed on to the case and watch bracelet. With an efficient, long-lasting, 80-hour power reserve, the chronograph also features a rattrapante split-second function after 48 hours and a large date display window for increased readability on the move.
