Parisian jewellery designer Shourouk has turned to destinations along the Silk Road, particularly India, as the inspiration behind her collection for Swarovski.
‘India is an infinite source of inspiration. It was fascinating to interpret the jewellery of Indian princes, rich in detail, colour, and complexity, in a contemporary version,’ she says.
The majestic collection centres around a necklace embroidered with crystals in black, grey, brown and satin which is mounted on a luxurious silk cord and rests on the neckline in the form of a bib. The necklace is complemented by drop earrings, cuffs and bracelets which draw upon vintage jewellery for inspiration.
‘I chose the designer Shourouk because her style is unique, innovative, feminine, rich, colourful and opulent. These are precisely the strengths of the Secret Treasures collection,’ explains Nathalie Colin, Swarovski’s creative director. ‘Furthermore, Shourouk has always worked with Swarovski crystals in her own line, so this is a perfect match. And her world, inspired by the jewellery of the maharajas, fits perfectly with the spirit of our Secret Treasures collection.’
