A new exhibition at Museo Salvatore Ferragamo explores the history and anatomy of the foot. Ferragamo dedicated years of his life to perfecting heels that did not cause discomfort to the wearer and the new exhibition, Equilibrium, brings together his extensive research with associated art on loan from major international museums and art galleries.
Pieces by Degas, Rodin, Bourdelle, Matisse and Picasso are all on display, alongside Ferragamo foot moulds of famous Hollywood stars including Sophia Loren, Audrey Hepburn and Ingrid Bergman.
The eight-room exhibition took curators Stefania Ricci and Sergio Risaliti three years to compile, and runs until April 2015.
