Show Report: Jil Sander Spring/Summer 2012

Raf Simons’s spring/summer 2012 collection explored the bygone world of the lady. The crisp, white opening looks took their inspiration from the ritual of visiting the beauty parlour, followed by pieces which developed Simons’s interest in couture. Pastel paisley prints, checks and Picasso-style prints provided fresh and pretty options for summer, while deceptively simple-looking yet perfectly cut jackets and dresses were a nod to the fashion house’s heritage. The closing series of gowns, again in white, seamlessly fused traditional couture techniques and modernity.
