Like every previous Giorgio Armani collection, spring/summer 2013 was ladylike and elegant in every way. This season’s silhouettes, offered in deep navy and silvery grey, remained, as always, loose and flowing yet smartly tailored. The trouser suit made up a large part of the collection; in a pyjama style made of beautiful silks, it’s the perfect outfit for keeping cool on summer days.
For evening, Armani always loves to make his women sparkle in beautiful beadwork and this season was no different. Extensive beading in silver and brilliant turquoise-decorated dresses and jackets were a striking look we’ll no doubt see on the red carpet very soon. As at Emporio Armani, the models came down the runway in twos towards the end of the show; this time, in little silk shorts and jackets, they looked like pairs of minxes ready to cause mayhem in the Milanese night – no doubt just what Armani had in mind.
