The models at the Emporio Armani show had a healthy, fresh-from-holiday glow, no doubt due to the collection’s colour palette of cool browns, beiges and nudes, intermixed with a subtle blush pink. The look for the Emporio woman this season is as chic and elegant as ever, yet with a slouchier, looser silhouette, perfect for a long hot Italian summer.
The collection’s triangular cuts and drapes in a range of silks and satins made for interesting dresses and separates that looked almost nouveau Grecian. The pixellated plaid pattern seen on silk shorts and dresses gave the collection its modern edge; the technologically created print mixed with old-world influences lent the show a perfect balance of old and new techniques. Some of the final looks saw the models come down the runway swathed in flowing, sugary pastel chiffon and we’re in no doubt that this collection is a sweet treat clients will long to unwrap.
