Prada has launched an exciting line of sustainable bags, created in a new regenerated nylon, Econyl. The Re-Nylon bag collection launches with six classic Prada bag styles including the cult belt bag, the shoulder bag, a tote bag, a duffle and two backpacks. The range has been designed in a partnership between Prada and textile yarn producer Aquafil, whose Econyl yarn is made with recycled plastic waste collected from oceans and fishing nets, and textile fibre waste. Nylon has previously been an emblem of Prada and this project marks an ecological and fashion-forward move towards the brand’s wider goal of total sustainability by the end of 2021.
The regenerated nylon backpacks follow Prada’s modern design, offering many pockets and the new Prada Re-Nylon fabric.
A percentage of the proceeds from the sale of the Prada Re-Nylon capsule collection will be donated to a project related to environmental sustainability.
