Prada is a global brand with over 300 stores worldwide but its heart has always belonged to Milan’s Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II where Mario Prada opened his first shop in 1913.
This weekend Prada returns to the Galleria as the house opens a new men’s store adjacent to the existing Prada womenswear store. The new opening marks the beginning of Prada’s Galleria revamp. The brand plans to open a restaurant on the mezzanine and convert the upper floors into exhibition spaces for the Fondazione Prada and headquarters for the Prada Group. The Fondazione floors will house state-of-the-art exhibition and display facilities to support public art and performances.
