Where were you born?
In Milan, on Via della Spiga well before it became a super fashion place. You could still buy food and it was like a small town – I knew everyone.
Where do you live now?
After living abroad for many years I am now back on Via della Spiga, in the same place, as the house has been in my family for several generations.
Which are your favourite stores in the Via Montenapoleone area?
I love the Miu Miu store as it has always fresh, young oufits; I often go to Hermès as it is timeless, elegant and chic; Nilufar has the very best design furniture ever and the owner, Nina, is such an interesting lady.
Which are your favourite restaurants in central Milan?Bice, a great restaurant with super food where they treat me as if I were a princess, and Sushi Shop for a quick lunch!
Do you have a favourite local café that you go to regularly?
Cova, I grew up there and they still have the best coffee ever. While I was living abroad that’s what I always missed!
Where do you take friends that are visiting Milan?
The Last Supper by Leonardo is the magical place where I like to take most of my friends. Also, the Castello Sforzesco is so full of Milanese history and I am proud of my Milanese heritage!
Where do you like to celebrate?
I adore the Langosteria restaurant on Via Savona, where you can eat the most amazing fish ever. It is pricy but well worth it.
Do you have a favourite Milan walk?
I still love to go to the Giardini Pubblici. I played there as a kid and now I walk there with my dog.
Which is the best attraction in Milan?
The Duomo is always a stunning place to visit and the Biblioteca Ambrosiana next door is also spectacular.
Which do you think is the best museum in Milan?
The Poldi Pezzoli, because you can see how wealthy Milanese people used to live and discover the atmosphere of the time.
Which person from Milan do you most admire?
Beccaria the writer, as he was an amazingly enlightened person for his time.
What insider tip would you offer to visitors?
Take a bicycle and explore by going around and getting lost!
Where do you most like to travel for inspiration?
India, my favourite country ever.
What can’t you live without?
Mozzarella cheese. I am completely addicted to it.
