Last weekend Milan saw Ermenegildo Zegna’s new spring/summer runway collection for next summer, featuring classic Italian tailoring pepped up with shimmer for a positively bright outlook. The Italian fashion house followed a block colour format, starting with cream and beige to open the show, moving to safari brown and rustic red at its peak, ending with shimmering burgundy, pewter and midnight blue for the eveningwear.
Models wore polo shirts with metallic ankle grazers accessorised with large tote bags and Italian leather loafers for a laidback daytime look. To bring the current sport luxe trend to the fore, light biker style jackets in an array of colours were on offer, creating a slightly softer yet always stylish Zegna look.
The label’s signature tailoring was evident in the darker-coloured items, including longline macs with matching tailored suits. Each style incorporated the metallic theme with contrasting shirts and accessories.
Zegna continued this year’s introduction of graphics to menswear with a small selection of digital-, tribal- and animal-print pieces, proving you can mix and match your summer wardrobe while remaining effortlessly stylish.
