Massimo Giorgetti launched MSGM in partnership with the Paoloni Group in 2009, and shortly afterwards was chosen by Vogue Italia as a finalist for the 2010 Who’s on Next competition. Citing influences from Coco Chanel to Walter Albini, Giorgetti is keen to incorporate elements of tradition into his designs while also adding a fresh and modern touch. He is also inspired by contemporary art and music, and focuses on creating catching shapes, lines and colours. MSGM’s Milan flagship store is inspired by the city and the relationship between the inside and outside. Although MSGM is a not a well-known name to some, its SS15 collection for women speaks volumes. Bold and vibrant patterns feature along with sophisticated dresses and two-piece items. This is a store not to be missed for the sophisticated yet fashion-forward woman.

Another brand that is less well-known than it deserves to be, Andrea Incontri is headed by the designer of the same name. Incontri was born and bred in Milan, where his grandparents owned a textiles shop, and he was quickly introduced to the fashion world. He launched his brand in 2009 and recently started offering womenswear. Although the brand was launched relatively recently, its clothing for women has rapidly been recognised as some of the best around. Incontri’s SS15 collection is bright, pretty and feminine: purples, yellows and pinks lit up the catwalk. While in Milan, it is well worth visiting the Andrea Incontri boutique, located on Via Giulio Cesare Procaccini.
