French jeweller Cartier unveiled its Coloratura high-jewellery collection at Haute Couture Fashion Week in Paris this summer. A spectacular display of colour and rare gems, it takes inspiration from the cultures of Asia, Japan, India and Africa to create a striking new range of jewellery, from necklaces and bracelets to rings, earrings and tiaras. As with every piece of Cartier high jewellery, each item is a work of art and comes with its own story. This collection pays homage to the three Cartier brothers who travelled widely to find the best raw materials and inspirations. Taking the bold contrasts of Asia and the East, the subtle palette of Japan, the vibrant shades of India and dynamic tones of Africa, the collection creates a dialogue between the stones and their colours. Highlights include a Cartier white gold, emerald, spinel, mandarin garnet, turquoise, onyx and diamond Chromaphonia necklace that would have surely been worthy of Cartier patron and Hollywood legend the late Elizabeth Taylor.
