Where were you born?
Which is your favourite area in the city?
Plaka, which is the oldest neighbourhood in Athens.
Which are your favourite stores in the city?
I like to shop at Free Shop in Kolonaki, where one can find items by Margiela and Pierre Hardy. I also like Protoporia bookstore for the selection available and for the old-fashioned style of the store, and Vinyl Microstore in Exarhia for great music albums. I think Hatzis pastry shop at Syntagma Square is the best of its kind.
Which are your favourite restaurants in the city?
I love Alatsi restaurant for their amazing Cretan food. When I feel like sushi I head downtown to Furin Kazan, and for special occasions I make a reservation at Varoulko restaurant, which has been awarded a Michelin star.
Do you have a favourite local café or bar?
Now that I think about it, I must have spent dozens of hours at Rosebud café/bar in Kolonaki during the last decade.
Any recommendations for local food to try?
I'm a huge fan of Greek food but if I was to recommend three dishes they would be dolmadakia (vine leaf rolls stuffed with rice), meat pie with mizithra cheese, and for dessert ekmek with ice cream.
Where do you take out-of-town friends?
I take them for a swim outside of Athens and then for fresh fish. At the end of the day we go for a couple of cocktails in the bars around Syntagma Square.
Do you have a favourite walk?
Undoubtedly the most beautiful walk is Dionisiou Aeropagitou street, all the way from Plaka to Thission.
How do you like to travel?
I walk a lot and I use the metro.
What’s the best landmark?
The Parthenon is absolutely breath taking.
