Fendi has opened its first store in Germany, on Munich’s prestigious shopping street, Maximilianstrasse.
The new boutique celebrates the brand’s blend of tradition and innovation, with an harmonious dialogue between its Roman-inspired architecture, modern interior and new collections.
The ground floor hosts the leather goods and accessories collection, accented by dark stone pavements with intense blue highlights. It also features the Baguette Wall, a tribute to the classic Fendi bag.
The first floor boasts a series of thematic rooms, including the dark Fur Room with gold and bronze Japanese-lacquered walls. French architect Thierry Lemaire has collaborated with Fendi to design a series of pieces for the Munich boutique, including bespoke coffee tables and stool side tables in bronze.
The opening of the store also coincides with Karl Lagerfeld’s project The Glory of Water. Photographs of Roman fountains, taken by Lagerfeld for the project, are displayed in several rooms, and are designed to celebrate the city where Fendi was founded.
