Each season, designers create new and unique handbag designs, all vying to achieve ‘It’ bag status. Weird and wonderful handbags have become the biggest way to capture the attention of the street-style stars and those on social media, with brands playing around with traditional handbag shapes.
The autumn/winter 2019 collections included an array of one-of-a-kind styles. Since Nicolas Ghesquière become creative director of Louis Vuitton, the house has created a range of striking, unusual bags, which have become cult accessories. For AW19 Louis Vuitton has designed several new models including the Louis Vuitton Néo Square bag and the Mini Luggage Vertical bag – a fun take on the house’s heritage. Fendi’s iconic Baguette bag has been revived once again for AW19, this time reimagined in a quirky cage format. Lovers of the iconic Loewe Puzzle bag will be pleased to see the bag updated for the new season, this time in rugby-print colours.
