Launched at the end of 2008, the PanoInverse model from German watch brand Glashütte Original is a tribute to the precision and expertise of the German watchmaking industry. Unusually for a mechanical watch, the PanoInverse brings the technical forces that drive the timekeeping on to the dial. The idea of showing something that is traditionally hidden makes for an unconventional yet truly beautiful piece.
The engraved balance bridge, usually only visible on pieces with clear sapphire casebacks or skeleton faces, sits off centre, highlighting both the beauty and functionality of the watch. The vertical ridges on the dial add another unique, aesthetic element to the piece, along with the distinctive blue screws, which are heated to a precise temperature to achieve their superb colour.
The initial launch featured two PanoInverse models in white and rose gold. In 2010, a stainless steel piece was introduced and in 2012 a larger 42mm-case timepiece joined the PanoInverse collection. Fast forward to 2019 and the PanoInverse collection now includes three PanoMaticInverse models, featuring a date display and an all-new 42-hour power reserve.
Whichever model you choose, the PanoInverse range represents true individuality in the world of watchmaking. Each timepiece is sure to be among the most intriguing and unusual pieces in your collection, for the next decade and for years to come.
