Designer Barbara Gebhardt adheres to time-honoured principles, creating pieces that suit the natural silhouette, paying close attention to detail and using the most luxurious fabrics. Her boutique, however, is anything but traditional, offering carefully edited pieces displayed on mannequins, surrounded by sleek white counters and walls and dominated by a white architectural tree-branch sculpture.

Taking inspiration from the urban landscape, the designers behind S Wert, Sandra Siewert and Dirk Berger, stamp their unique style on to a wide range of home furnishings and fashion. Cushions featuring classic architecture of the 1960s and 1970s, drinking glasses with graffiti-like scratches and strong graphic floral designs all feature. Striking and unusual, the pieces would make the perfect souvenir for admirers of cosmopolitan chic.

Somewhere between an art installation and concept store, Bless is hard to categorise. Occupying a third-floor apartment in residential Berlin, the store is curated by a roster of shop sitters who live in the space as well as sell its goods; pieces range from unusual home furnishings to independent fashion collections and avant-garde accessories. The display changes constantly; book an appointment to explore the range alone or visit on Thursday afternoon when the store is open to the public.
