Where do you live?
I spend my time living, working and playing between Kreuzberg and Brooklyn.
What’s best about your neighbourhood?
What are your favourite Berlin stores?
I've bought numerous frames from Lunettes Brillenagentur on Marienburger Strasse, a vintage spectacle shop with everything from rare Chanel frames to hard-to-find 60s Italian gems. Blush Berlin on Rosa-Luxemburg-Strasse has fabulous hand-made lingerie.
And your favourite restaurants?
Die Quadriga on Eislebener Strasse, hands down; their wine list is so well rounded. I've had nothing but pleasurable experiences at Grill Royal on Friedrichstrasse. I always bump into people I know at Tausend on Schiffbauerdamm.
Do you have a favourite local café or pub?
Zur Rose near Rosenthaler Platz has a fresh modern menu, candlelit tables and a perfect Berliner ambiance.
Any recommendations for local dishes to try?
Dare I say döner kebab?
Where do you like to celebrate?
Solar sky lounge on Stresemannstrasse is my all-time favourite bar – it has a spectacular 360° view of Berlin and exceptional service.
Do you have a favourite walk?
I could spend hours day-dreaming along the canal.
How do you like to travel around the city?
It’s either cab, U-Bahn or S-Bahn.
What do you think is the best museum in Berlin?
If you have only a few days in Berlin I would highly recommend the Neue Nationalgalerie on Potsdamer Strasse. If you can get an invitation, I would also suggest the Walter Benjamin Archiv in the Akademie der Künste on Luisenstrasse.
Where are the best bargains to be found?
Berlin’s flea markets, of course!
Any advice for visitors?
Consider apartment swapping with someone who lives in a true pre-war structure. You won’t regret it.
