Marc Cain’s elegant lady seems to have got lost and ended up at a rave instead of a quiet lunch with friends this season – and this is not a bad thing. Splashes of neon punctuated the spring/summer 2013 collection shown at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin this afternoon, as classic A-line skirts, tailored capri pants and lace tops in fluorescent yellow, green and pink refreshed an otherwise modest collection of classically styled and ladylike pieces.
Marc Cain was founded in 1973 and now has over 120 boutiques in over 50 countries around the world, as well as being stocked in department stores such as de Bijenkorf and Maison de Bonneterie in Holland.
The German brand’s philosophy is to create wearable, feminine, laid-back womenswear which is innovative and forward thinking. This was very much evident in today’s show as cardigans, court shoes and even the timeless pearl necklace were brought over to the wild side.
