Over the last couple of seasons, Maria Grazia Chiuri has held up a mirror to feminism, with collections inspired by some of the great feminist fashion writers. This season, she marked the 50th anniversary of the Paris student protests of 1968 in creating a collection that champions some the late 60s’ most stylish sartorial motifs as well as school uniform pieces ‒ a nod to the students. Highlights of the collection were undoubtedly the accessories, including bags that are sure to be some of the most coveted of the season. The classic Dior Saddle bag has been reinterpreted with new colourways and embellishments while the Dior Book Tote in embroidered canvas is sure to be another ‘It’ bag for AW18.
