Grand Palais Miró Retrospective
The historic Grand Palais venue offers some of the city’s most revered exhibitions, organising major international art exhibitions across classical, modern, and contemporary art. This January be sure to catch the final month of the Miró retrospective. Bringing together nearly 150 works by Spanish painter and sculptor Joan Miró, the exhibition traces the evolution of the artist and his works through paintings, drawings, ceramics and sculptures.

9 January: Sales
Paris’s famous winter sales are a great opportunity to invest in key pieces for the year ahead at a discounted rate. The eagerly awaited markdowns are available in all of Paris’s key department stores, including Galeries Lafayette and Bon Marché, as well as cool boutiques offering exclusive Parisian labels. Reductions typically start at around 30% off and, with most stores in the French capital participating, it is a great time to visit some of the best shopping streets in Paris.
14 January: Italy at Bar Vendôme
Situated in the famous Ritz Paris hotel, Bar Vendôme is an ode to old-school Parisian glamour. This month, however, Italy comes to the popular venue with a special menu from Gennaro Russo, the executive chef of Le Sirenuse. Dishes include classics such as rice and beef arancini and bruschetta with anchovies and tomato burrata. For lunch and dinner, guests will be able to try Russo’s signature dishes, including ravioli stuffed with beef cheek or pumpkin risotto.

21 January: Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week
January heralds the start of the new fashion season with Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week. Running from the 21-24 January, the event will see top couture houses, from Chanel to Dior, showcasing their exquisite collections to some of the world’s most influential fashion writers, bloggers, editors and buyers. While these shows are not open to the public, the streets around the Grand Palais des Champs-Élysées and Palais de Tokyo will be catwalks in their own right, with the biggest names in fashion and street-style on display.
