Loewe’s Stuart Vevers emphasised power and glamour this season with an equestrian-themed wardrobe in rich black. Featuring primarily masculine garments with exquisite and sensual feminine tailoring, the collection introduced strong military jackets embellished with oversized silver buttons, exceptional leather skirts and subtle prints that peeped through delicate cutouts in authoritative knee-length leather dresses.
Vevers’ predominant use of black enhanced the dominating leather and sharp tailoring of the entire range, which exuded confidence. Models with hair pulled back neatly and neutral make-up were occasionally observed sporting silver earrings or pink scarves, which clearly displayed the British designer’s successful and much-lauded fashion history with designers such as Louis Vuitton, Givenchy and Calvin Klein.
Global Blue’s picks from this opulent range of leather-on-leather garments are the black jacket with leather pockets and the leather skirt with flashes of wool, embellished with a black self-detailed leather belt and cloche hat; a powerful yet feminine combination.
