Isabel Marant may not change her aesthetic drastically every season but for the many Marant devotees who squeezed into her converted convent show space, business as usual is more than adequate.
For autumn/winter, Marant took the countrified style of Little House on the Prairie and made it look modern with western shirts and flirtatious frilled skirts teamed with low-slung leather belts and ankle-length cowboy boots. This was a collection filled with wardrobe-ready, feminine pieces; light lace embroidered dresses were almost summery while brightly coloured jeans and a denim jacket emblazoned with American flags were more practical but equally pretty alternatives.
The typical nonchalant Marant attitude was still in evidence; despite the sweet and girlish country aesthetic, undone hair and moody mini dresses embellished with lonestar studs had a definite edge. The iconic red skinny trouser also made another appearance, this time suitably embellished with full-length fringing. This was one journey into the Wild West that everyone will want to hitch a ride on this autumn.
