Earlier this week Salvatore Ferragamo held a catwalk show to introduce its tough but feminine 2013 resort collection. Fashion’s elite attended the special event, held in the Louvre museum in Paris. Models paraded through the historical archways displaying Ferragamo’s latest collection, which features animal prints and embellishments such as fringing and studs against a soft colour palette of cream, peach, beige and light grey.
The Italian fashion house opened the show with sharp silhouettes in cream and grey, combined with edgy touches in the form of biker jackets and asymmetric zipped skirts, creating a bohemian rock-chick look.
Floaty pieces in dusky pink were also on display, plus a selection of soft animal-print floor-length dresses accessorised with snakeskin boots. For the evening, the collection moved towards a Wild West theme, with embellishments of tassels, fringing and studs. The desert-safari look was completed with snakeskin bags and matching over-the-knee boots. This fusion of classic shapes with modern details creates a collection that will appeal to today’s young, fashionable women.
