Describing his own ready-to-wear collection as ‘real clothes for real men’ he designs modern, good-quality clothing with a laid back yet sophisticated feel.
Here he lets Dominique Fenn in on his favourite places in Paris:
I live in Paris and have been here for 15 years now. The beauty of the city always surprises me. Paris is an amazing place to live; I feel very lucky. I usually take my inspiration from the people I know, the people I meet, and the guys I see on the street, in a club, in a restaurant or at a train station. I am very curious and I observe a lot, wherever I am.
My favourite stores in Paris includes AMI, on boulevard Beaumarchais, our first AMI store. I am very proud to have collaborated with 10 Corso Como in Milan since the beginning of AMI and am very honoured that the buyers come here every season and make a selection.
Astier de Villates is a great place to find gifts for friends and I also like La Hune, a library in Saint-Germain-des-Près.
My friend Claus, at Claus Paris, serves the best breakfast ever. I live very close to L’Annexe, in the 9th arrondissement, it’s perfect for a dinner with friends and serves affordable French gastronomy.
My offices are in the same building as the canteen Au Gros Minet. Hélène, the owner, is a friend now and she cooks perfectly! What I love the most is the chicken and potatoes with cream. I recently discovered Le Passage, it is a very charming Parisian restaurant offering very good food.
My friend Robert opened a bar called Bonne Novelle, opposite Rex Club, where I go each Thursday with my friends; it’s a cool place. I like to celebrate and entertain at home with my friends too.
My favourite walk in Paris is around Montmartre where you will find the best view of the city. The Eiffel Tower, in my opinion, is the best landmark here. I visited it again just recently and continue to find it a great way to understand the magic of the city.
Musée d’Orsay is my favourite museum. My top tip for exploring the city is to rent a scooter! I couldn’t live without Paris.
