Legendary French perfume house Le Galion was founded in the 1930s and offered some of the most exclusive and beautifully made scents of the 20th century. Le Galion’s fragrances such as Snob, Whip and Brumes became cult perfumes in the art deco period, each one earning acclaim in the beauty industry. The brand was made famous by Paul Vacher who was regarded as one of the master perfumers of the last century. After creating fragrances for both Lanvin and Dior his name was immortalised in the perfume industry. He died in 1975 and Le Galion gradually faded from the beauty scene. Fast-forward 30 years or so and the brand has been resurrected thanks to entrepreneur and luxury expert Nicolas Chabot. Here, we offer a guide to some of Le Galion’s most renowned scents as well as new fragrances developed under the direction of Chabot.
