Copenhagen’s latest up-and-coming designer is Stine Riis, who recently won the 2012 H&M Design Award for her futuristic, androgynous womenswear collection. The Danish designer cites Raf Simons as her favourite designer of the moment; her award-winning collection was shown at Stockholm Fashion Week earlier this year, where one of the three judges was none other than British designer Christopher Kane. Riis, who studied at the London College of Fashion, stood out from the other five finalists for her structural lines and tailored silhouettes. The prize includes a mini autumn/winter 2012/13 collection for H&M stores based on the winning collection, with key pieces including a bright, cobalt-blue angular print sleeveless top with a matching skirt. The standout collection, due for release on 17 September, is sure to be a winner with the fashion pack.
