Global Blue is releasing unique Tax Free Shopping data in the first study of its kind, to help the travel and retail industries better understand the world highest-spending international shoppers.

Known as international Elite shoppers, according to Global Blue's segmentation, this group travels around three times a year and spends on average €55,000 across 12 different transactions.
Study revealed how the top 0.5% of international shoppers are responsible for 17% of Tax Free Spend. Five nationalities represent 80% of this category of travellers who prioritise Europe as shopping destination
with France (36%) being the number one country worldwide, just before the UK and Italy, which both welcome 31%. Japan (21%) is Asia's premier destination, followed by Singapore (16%)
