Minimum purchase amount removed in Spain

Globe Shoppers in Spain can now claim a VAT refund without the minimum transaction value

The Spanish Government has removed the minimum amount of €90.16 that previously applied to Tax Free Shopping transactions made in the country. This means that now, whatever the price of the goods are, international visitors have the right to claim back the VAT on their purchases.

The new regulations came into effect in July 2018 and represent an opportunity for the retail sector to boost sales with Globe Shoppers enjoying increased purchase power. In addition the new measures enable Spain to boost its position as a competitive European shopping destination.
