Kin by John Lewis
Kin by John Lewis is known for offering affordable, well-designed contemporary clothing with a directional aesthetic. Clean shapes, modern materials and Scandinavian-inspired styling combine to create the minimalist feel that has become the label’s defining characteristic.
This season, the collection references 1990s minimalism, albeit with a modern sport-luxe edge. It’s been designed for city living, taking inspiration from architect Frank Lloyd Wright in its structure and form, and from the Japanese Mingei movement in its seasonal prints. Expect pieces to feature a broadly monochrome colour palette, interspersed with denim blue, and be sure to take note of the accompanying accessories line, which includes backpacks, slouchy silhouette bags, crisp white trainers and sandals.
Somerset by Alice Temperley
The aesthetic of Somerset by Alice Temperley is defined by the designer’s bohemian yet contemporary sense of style, executed with premium fabrics and artisanal accents. The label’s spring/summer 2015 collection is infused with the carefree spirit of the 70s, with nautical prints and relaxed tailoring featured throughout. Its colour palette also has a retro feel, with shades of indigo, denim blue and white combined with tropical floral prints. Ruby red brogues complement the collection and provide a pop of colour.
Collection Weekend by John Lewis
Offering fun, feminine casualwear with an effortless yet polished aesthetic, Collection Weekend is designed for summer living. Its spring/summer collection takes its cue from British countryside heritage style, featuring colourful, playful floral and kaleidoscopic prints inspired by the Impressionists, and A-line silhouettes based on the style of the 1950s. A colour palette of crisp white and denim blue provides the perfect backdrop for vibrant pops of springtime colour.
