El Corte Inglés, one of the world’s most famous department stores, commemorates its 75th anniversary with a series of events across its stores in Spain, lasting until the end of summer 2016.
The first-ever El Corte Inglés store is on Madrid’s Preciados street and it starts the trail of commemorations before the celebrations are rolled out to other Spanish cities. An exhibition takes customers on a journey through the fashion, trends, advertising and tastes that have shaped the past 75 years at El Corte Inglés.
Shopping in style
For the spring/summer season El Corte Inglés stores across Spain will be decorated with interchanging digital window displays. For a unique retail experience customers will be greeted with a series of back-to-back pop-up stores from 90 brands across all departments. As part of the commemorative collection, rare and exclusive products will be on offer for those looking for a unique souvenir.
Spanish food fair
Food plays an important part in the celebrations and large food fairs will showcase the world of gastronomy. The fairs, held at all El Corte Inglés supermarkets, will be open until mid-April and will feature the top-quality produce that has been increasingly offered by El Corte Inglés throughout its 75 years. There will be 1,000 emblematic items, including Denominación de Origen goods, exclusive products, new developments and artisanal and local ingredients. These will be complemented by other products from the El Corte Inglés brand.
