Her graduate show featured Pixie Geldof and Alice Dellal wearing a kaleidoscope of clashing colours and she was picked for London Fashion Week’s Fashion East show. Today her clothes are stocked in various boutiques and she is a firm favourite with singers Rihanna and Rita Ora. She shares her insider tips on things to do and see in London

‘I’m from Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates; now l live in London and l like it because all my friends are here.

‘One of my favourite restaurants in London, and one of my secret places, is Ciao Bella in Bloomsbury as it’s affordable and nice. Jack’s Place in Battersea has great but inexpensive steak and lobster: it opened in 1968 and is still family owned. Rules is the oldest restaurant in London, situated in Covent Garden. l love it because it has great food and it looks really good – it’s where I go for celebratory drinks and dinners.

‘When out-of-town friends are visiting London l will take them for a walk from Jack’s Place to Abney Park Cemetery in Stoke Newington. A walk along the Thames is lovely too: the view when crossing Waterloo Bridge is wonderful.

‘The local shop you will most likely find me in is the corner shop by my studio in Dalston!

‘The best museum is The Science Museum. To get about l use the tube if l'm in a hurry, or the bus if l want to look out of the window.

‘When l'm not out and about, l love being at home; l'm happiest in bed wearing my hoody.’
