New London eatery The Holy Birds offers everything you could possibly want from a trendy new dining experience. A comforting menu filled with delicious dishes is in keeping with the bird-based theme. Starters of duck Scotch egg and BBQ wings whet your appetite for mains of rotisserie chicken with a choice of three different spice rubs, lemon, garlic and thyme split grilled poussin or perhaps the guest bird special. Even the fussiest of eaters will find something to tantalise the tastebuds and the cocktail menu covers drinks for every possible mood and time of day. Classics such as the Moscow mule, old fashioned and kir royale are made to exacting standards and the bar also boasts a negroni and Manhattan menu – we recommend a downtown Manhattan for a floral twist on the original.

The restaurant takes you back in time with its ultra-hip 1960s decor, as well as with its modern updates of retro dishes. From the cheese fondue, which is perfect for sharing, to the chocolate and sea salt baked Alaska, these revived dishes play into the tongue-in-cheek nature of The Holy Birds as well as proving its status as one of the most exciting new openings of 2017.
