The Chanel Mystery Bottle project

This bank holiday weekend, Chanel is creating a series of huge artistic sensory installations in celebration of the No 5 perfume bottle

Emily Scrivener,

As Coco Chanel’s signature fragrance, Chanel No 5 has long been synonymous with elegance and style. Inspired by the shape of place Vendôme in Paris and the austere shape of a metal travel flask, the bottle has a masculine edge which contrasts with the entirely feminine and sensual fragrance inside.

From today until 5 May, Chanel puts its iconic perfume bottle centre stage and celebrates this revolutionary scent with a series of artistic tributes. Huge installations in the shape of the bottle will diffuse a fine mist of perfume, aiming to introduce a new way for people to experience and enjoy Chanel scents. Visitors will also be able to explore the story behind the perfume and receive a fragrant keepsake.

Chanel’s latest project can be experienced at a selection of exclusive locations including Heathrow Terminal 5 and the Chanel stores at Covent Garden and Westfield London.
